Bellows Falls Middle School Honors Veterans Day

img_0782Bellows Falls Middle School honored Veterans Day with a special assembly this morning. This powerful ceremony led by Band Director Stanley Rumrill included a reading of the Presidential Proclamation and student readings of “Thank You” cards that were completed during Art class for veterans. The assembly featured guest speaker Linda Perham, Army Veteran and past National Vice Commander of the American Legion.

The Bellows Falls Middle School Band honored the day with their rendition of the “National Anthem”, “American The Beautiful”, and “This Is My Country”. They also led a moment of silence to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice by playing “Taps”.

On Friday November 11th, Ms. Mary Lou Massucco [Art Teacher] delivered 100 cards to the White River Junction VA Medical Center. Cards were made during art classes. Several more were written directly to veterans and delivered by the students to dads, uncles, and grandfathers.
