Student Assistance Program

Bellows Falls Middle School has a Student Assistance Program with services focusing on  prevention of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. Prevention efforts are focused school-wide by keeping students, faculty and staff aware of information and offering activities promoting healthy living. The Student Assistance Counselor can conduct confidential screenings and provide support and referrals for students demonstrating possible substance use concerns.  Mandatory referrals are made when a student violates BFMS’ substance use policy related to substances.  Please contact Heather Waryas in the SAP office at 802-463-4366 or if you have any questions, concerns or would like services for your child.

In addition, our Student Assistance Counselor, Mrs. Waryas, facilitates two student groups at BFMS.  Above The Influence (ATI) and Vermont Kids Against Tobacco (VKAT) are both student-led prevention groups and all BFMS students are welcome and encouraged to join.  Students should contact Mrs. Waryas if interested in either of these peer groups.
